The Gadsby’s Tavern Museum Society hosts special events throughout the year to support the museum and bring the community together. These events take place in the same historic spaces where Americans gathered more than 200 years ago.
Events often include live music, historical demonstrations, auctions, and themed gatherings. Proceeds from these events help support museum programs, preservation projects, and educational initiatives.

Late Summer Events at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum
Here are some of the great opportunities to explore the museum and travel back to the early Republic.
Learn from Gadsby’s Tavern Museum’s Jr. Docents during this family-friendly afternoon. Guests can enjoy student-led tours throughout the museum, participate in hands-on activities, and watch a chocolate-making demonstration. All are welcome.
Every Sunday through Labor Day weekend • 2–5 pm
Join us for our Game Night series. The evening features tavern games with a brief themed presentation and pub trivia around 7:30 p.m. Cash bar available during the event. Please note this event takes place up one flight of stairs in the historic Ballroom of Gadsby’s Tavern Museum. This Tavern Games Night’s theme: Alexandria during the revolutionary years.

Explore Gadsby's Tavern Museum top to bottom, including spaces rarely opened to the public, and understand how the buildings have changed over time. Wear comfortable shoes and bring your camera! Please note this tour involves ascending and descending multiple sets of stairs, including into the rarely on view fourth floor!
